Merry Christmas (by Bill)

Yesterday we fixed the pipe that was leaking in Mom's wall. One failed try that washed the car sitting in the garage with the bonus of a nice clean garage floor, three trips to Ace hardware and it is fixed!

Last night we went to Red Lobster for Christmas Eve dinner. This is one of Mom's favorite places.
We discussed why this chain is successful when many have disappeared. It was a busy place but food was good, waiter was good and the time to food delivery was reasonable. After, we drove to a new section of this little town to look at the new "mansions" - (who lives in these things?) Christmas lights. Some were pretty amazing. Particularly one that had a 3 story glass walled family room? with a tree that went to the ceiling !! After that we came home, listened to Christmas music and waited for Santa.

Christmas day dawned sunny with a white frost covering the lawn. The high for today should be about 58F - a bonus for being 500 mi. S. of MI.

After a leisurely breakfast (the last day for these 22g of fat cinnamon rolls - home tomorrow to daily oatmeal. Cinnamon is good for you !! ) we checked to see what Santa brought. He was good to us and Joyce, Mom and I had fun opening our gifts, interspersed with kids and grand kids on the phone. We decided to skip lunch and opt for an early dinner of honey glazed baked ham (with apple and raisin pie a la mode for dessert). It was a pleasant and peaceful Christmas day.

One of our grand kids told us that they didn't really like one of the presents we sent. We laughed and enjoyed his honesty - guess it was a flawed spiderman game, probably made in China. Paraphrasing Lucy in the "Charlie Brown" comic strip today: Aunt Martha I liked the doll that you sent, I'm sorry that it fell in the river. :-) Kids "are" funny. and Honesty is good. :-)

Tomorrow we do the 500 mi drive home.

It looks like you have fallen into the trap of the Quinn's Marketing campaign. jk. At least we made it on there.
